Preheater Successfully Tested

On Saturday, 11 February 2023, a fully rebuilt preheater unit was successfully tested at the WLA's Bridgnorth Workshop facilities. The preheater was originally from "B" end of D1013 and is now destined to replace "A" end preheater of D1062 during March. Benefitting from a refurbished motor, refurbished water pump with new bearings and seals and new fuel pump, the preheater ran extremely smoothly and was a tribute to WLA Working Member - Paul Medley, who overhauled the unit over a three-year period, assisted by Roger Fry.
