D1013 Engine Overhaul Underway

D1013's engine overhaul is now underway with all the ex-BR cast iron cylinder heads removed from the MD 655 engine. These will shortly be replaced by refurbished higher quality cast-iron "David" heads. The engine rebuild should be completed early in 2023 after which, work with the 538 engine (currently in store) will follow on.
