To celebrate the lives of late WLA members who made a significant contribution to the WLA - namely Greg Heathcliffe, Henry Coates and Chris Shields - we are delighted to announce a very special Western Memorial Observation Saloon Tour, for WLA members only.
Working with the Severn Valley Railway, we have booked D1062 Western Courier to haul a single GWR Observation Saloon, creating an exclusive opportunity for a day out behind a "Thousand", with no more than 23 guests.
The tour will begin and end at Kidderminster, with plans for each guest to have the opportunity to enjoy a cab ride during the day (subject to SVR approval, age restrictions and accessibility requirements).
Your ticket will also include a full SVR deluxe buffet lunch*, together with tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day.
The tour will undertake three return trips behind D1062—providing almost 100 miles of "Thousand" haulage through the stunning scenery of the Severn Valley. Indicated timings have been provided as follows:
