SVR Heritage Open Days - Behind the Scenes

The SVR is bringing England’s largest festival of history and culture to the Severn Valley Railway for one bumper weekend, allowing you to go behind-the-scenes to areas rarely seen by the public.

The SVR’s part in Heritage Open Days will take place on 10^th and 11^th September 2022.

The SVR's team will be on-hand to offer FREE tours of the most fascinating areas of the SVR throughout the weekend. There’s so much to see, do and get up close to, helping you see things and experience things unlike any other area.

Plus, you can easily see it all by booking tickets to travel on the train for as little as £25 for a full day out. (Behind the scenes tours can be booked separately and are free but do not include travel.)

Areas to discover and activities taking place include:

• Bridgnorth Motive Power Depot – Guided Tour
  • Book your place for a free 60-minute tour of the SVR’s Motive Power Depot, see our engineering works, the boiler shop and our new workshop, following completion of the Roof and Crane Project. Plus 4930 Hagley Hall will be on display before its starring role in our Autumn Steam Gala. Places must be pre-booked
• Kidderminster Diesel Depot – Guided Tour
  • Book your place for a free 60-minute tour of the SVR’s Diesel Depot, the award-winning maintenance facility for our fleet of diesels – see the pit and an overhead crane, as well as various locomotives undergoing work. Places must be pre-booked by CLICKING HEREhttps://svr.digitickets.co.uk/event-tickets/42832?catID=42894&
